Niyi Coker, Jr

Niyi Coker, Jr is a writer and director whose career straddles both the academic and professional world of Theatre, Television, and Film. He is currently Professor and Director of the School of Theatre, Television, and Film at San Diego State University in California, USA. He has directed over 100 productions around the world, and served has served as Visiting Artistic Director to several theatre companies including: K3 at Malmo Hogskola in Sweden, the National Theatre of Nigeria, Black Box Theatre in Bermuda, University of Ghana Theatre, University of Kwazulu Natal, Durban South Africa, Artscape in Capetown, South Africa. He is the founding Artistic Director of the African Arts Ensemble in New York City. Niyi Coker, Jr is also a recipient of the Washington D.C. Kennedy Center Merit Award in Directing. He is an award winning filmmaker whose films have won Best Film Awards at the Madrid International Film Festival, London Film Festival, and the Nice International Film Festival in France.
